The short answer

The Knot is the biggest name in US weddings: a free website and planning app, the largest vendor marketplace, a registry and matching stationery. Forevermore is smaller and newer. It focuses on your website, your RSVPs and the wedding day itself, and it includes things The Knot doesn’t offer, such as guest photo sharing and a seating chart, free to use today.

If you’re still finding vendors, The Knot’s marketplace is a real advantage. If your vendors are booked and you want a private site and a lively wedding day, Forevermore is worth comparing.

  • Choose The Knot if you’re still booking vendors, want stationery that matches your website, or want a registry store and cash fund in the same place.
  • Choose Forevermore if your vendors are sorted and you want guest photo sharing, a seating chart and a private website, without an app.

Where The Knot is stronger

Hand writing a short letter on handmade paper
  • Vendors. The Knot’s marketplace lets you search, compare reviews and request quotes. Its “Peace of Mind” program may pay up to $500 toward a replacement if a covered vendor cancels 90 to 14 days before the wedding. Forevermore has no vendor marketplace yet.
  • Stationery. Many website designs have matching printed invitations, from the same account. Forevermore’s matched stationery is only planned.
  • Registry and gifts. A universal registry, its own store and a cash fund. Venmo gifts carry no fee, and card gifts carry a 2.5% fee that guests pay. Guests can also split a gift with others. Forevermore only links to your registries.
  • Texting and an app. You can text guests from templates, and manage everything from The Knot’s app.

Where Forevermore is different

  • Guest photos and the wedding day. Guests scan one QR code to add photos to a live photo wall, leave a voice message, request songs, vote in polls and write to your time capsule, with no app.
  • A seating chart and a budget tracker. Both are included and free to use today. The Knot’s Budget Advisor estimates costs; it doesn’t track what you’ve paid.
  • Privacy. Your Forevermore site stays out of search engines unless you choose otherwise, and it isn’t listed in any couple directory. Forevermore doesn’t sell personal information, doesn’t share it for advertising and doesn’t show ads on wedding sites, as our privacy policy explains. If privacy matters to you, read each company’s privacy policy before you choose.

What Forevermore can’t do yet: there’s no app, no texting, no custom domain, no vendor marketplace, no video uploads from guests and no built-in cash fund.

What things cost
