Where Zola is stronger
- A real store. Zola sells gifts directly, with free shipping on most items, free returns within 90 days and a 20% discount after the wedding. You can turn unwanted gifts into Zola credit. Forevermore only links to the registries you already have.
- Cash funds. Guests can give money through Zola, or through Venmo with no Zola fee. Card gifts carry a 2.5% fee, which guests pay by default. Forevermore doesn’t take payments at all, so a cash fund lives wherever you set it up, such as Honeyfund or Venmo, and your registry page links to it.
- Choice of designs. Over 600 website templates and its own paper invitations, against Forevermore’s six palettes and three layouts. Matched printed stationery is planned for Forevermore, but it isn’t here yet.
- The app and the extras. A highly rated iPhone app, texting for a fee, AI-assisted guest list import and a vendor marketplace. Forevermore has none of these today.
Where Forevermore is different
- The wedding day is included. One printed QR code lets guests add photos to a live photo wall on the big screen, leave a voice message, request songs, vote in polls and write to your time capsule. It all works in the phone’s browser and costs nothing extra.
- No paywalls today. The seating chart, guest photos and everything else are free to use, with no guest limits. We don’t promise prices for later, but nothing is behind a paywall now.
- Out of search by default. Your site stays out of Google unless you turn on search, and you can make it password-protected or invite-only. Each page can have its own visibility, so your travel details can be for guests only. Our privacy policy says we don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising.
What Forevermore can’t do yet matters too: there’s no app, no texting and no custom domain, guests can’t upload videos, and sites are in English only.
What things cost
Both are free to start. At Zola, the extras you might pay for are a custom domain (from $17.99 a year), premium website effects, the seating chart above 15 guests ($14.99), texting (Zola lists $79.99; the App Store also shows $59.99) and the Disposable Camera above 5 guests ($39.99 for 150 guests). Zola says its money comes mainly from the products it sells.
Forevermore is free to use today, with no paid upgrades.
